    Editor's Note: Cary Lattin's notes for this article were found in the Cobblestone Museum archives. Following is an entry in the trustees minutes that was not included in the article:

    "Sept. 4, 1849, resolved to dig a well deep enough to furnish durable water for school purposes and to put a "Cope [& Co.] pump" of good durable material and platform of hewed cedar timbers, well framed and fitted to well and pump. Resolved to raise $10.00 for purpose of buying and putting in pump in will and cleaning same." Source: Trustees Minutes (1823-1849) book of School District No. 5, Town of Barre (Riches Corners School, see Editor's Note: below), found with Cary was cleaning out Cousin Mary's home.

    Editor's Note: The Town of Albion was created in 1875 by the division of the Town of Barre. Initially the Cobblestone School District No. 5 was in the Town of Barre and renamed Riches Corners School District, when the Town of Albion was created.
